Everything to do with real estate...

There’s virtually no area of real estate law in which we have not represented our clients. Flat purchases for private individuals, residential building projects for developers, drafting of office lease contracts, concluding of district development contracts with municipalities, property litigation – these are just a few of the areas in which our office has helped clients implement their projects or resolve their disputes over the years.

Everything that can happen when running a company…

Whether for small, medium-sized or large companies, we have represented, and continue to represent, clients across a diverse range of business matters, from the initial founding of a company through to winding up the business. Company foundation, change of company form, acquisitions and mergers, voluntary liquidation, bankruptcy and liquidation, patent and industrial property protection, personnel matters and labor disputes, commercial contracts, and a variety of transactions in almost every area of business – over the past 15 years, our office has been intimately involved in almost every legal aspect of business operation.

Everything to do with litigation…

Our litigation practice is one of our firm’s key areas of activity. We mainly represent clients in civil and business disputes, both at the regular courts and at arbitration courts. We regard litigation as an important strategic tool for asserting clients’ interests which, if in the right hands, can be used to great effect, but that with poor planning, can lead to huge losses in time and money. For this reason, before launching any litigation procedure, we conduct a thorough risk and cost analysis so that our clients have a good understanding of the possible outcomes of the dispute and can make their decisions accordingly.

Everything to do with inheritance…

Dealing with complex succession cases and inheritance planning is one of the key specialties of our office. Inheritance law is perhaps one of the least harmonized areas of law, and therefore representation in a complex cross-border succession case cannot be effective without an in-depth knowledge of the relevant international treaties, EU regulations and national laws of the countries involved. We have dealt with a number of inheritance cases where the different provisions of the law of two, three or even four jurisdictions needed to be taken into account at the same time. All this requires us to be up-to-date with constantly changing rules and regulations, and to this end, we are active members of various international professional organizations operating in the area of inheritance law and estate planning.

Our office’s aim is to help anyone who’s interested in the subject to gain insight into the complex but decidedly colorful field of international inheritance law. It is with this intention in mind that we launched International Succession Review, a regular publication in which we deal with key issues of cross-border inheritance.

Everything to do with finance…

Our office has represented its clients in numerous cases, on both the lender and the borrower side. We have acted in relation to bank loan and leasing transactions, advised in debt-restructuring and workout cases, and represented clients in lending-related litigation proceedings. Our finance practice draws heavily on our experience in the areas of business law, real estate law and litigation.

Everything to do with family wealth…

The management of family assets often requires a different approach to managing the assets of a company. The Continental European, Anglo-Saxon and Islamic legal systems, while differing greatly from one another in other respects, are all similar in attaching great significance to the role of the family in matters of property law.

While the concept of family varies from country to country, arriving at decisions that concern a family’s wealth requires a complex approach everywhere. Due to the interplay of emotional and financial factors that typically characterise family relations, legal, investment, tax and even psychological considerations must be taken into account if a workable and durable solution is to be found.

As part of our family office advisory service:
- we provide legal advice to help our clients make decisions regarding their family’s assets, and we help them select the most appropriate structure for the management of these assets (e.g. trusts or trust like instruments);
- we help choose advisors (e.g. professional trust fund companies, investment service providers, tax advisors) who can provide our clients with a high level of service in non-legal matters and
- we co-ordinate the activity of these advisors in a way that best represents the interests of our
clients.
